Robb Grubb is a veteran helicopter pilot and Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) with over 25 years of experience in the commercial rotorcraft industry. With more than 8,000 hours PIC, Robb’s operational background spans external load (Part 133), air taxi (Part 135), wildlife and fire missions, mountain flying, and advanced flight instruction.
He holds multiple FAA roles including Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII), Check Airman, and DPE authorized to conduct practical tests in the R22, R44, Bell 206, and Cabri G2. He’s been USFS/DOI carded since 2002 and actively supports operators across utility, charter, and special mission sectors.
Robb brings real-world mission insight into every lesson—covering not just how to fly the mission, but how to legally plan, equip, and execute it under Parts 91, 119, 133, and 135. His ground courses are structured to fill the knowledge gap between flight school and your first commercial helicopter job—providing a solid foundation in regulatory awareness, operational planning, and decision-making.
