Turn your lights on before pickup to help those around the helicopter know that you are about to pickup into a hover – even if they are not monitoring a radio. Do that by turning on the Nav & Landing Lights just before pickup.
Plus the Landing Light helps your helicopter be seen by other aircraft and birds, night and day.
